Barista Skills - Boma International Hospitality College

Barista Skills

Coffee House Programs

Coffee is one of the world's most loved beverages, but a great cup is never accidental. It is shaped by skill, precision, creativity, service, and a strong understanding of the business behind the counter.

The Barista Skills Course at Boma International Hospitality College is designed for learners who want to turn coffee into a career, a craft, or a business opportunity. The programme takes you through the full coffee journey, from tree to cup, while building the practical skills needed to work confidently in cafés, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, events, and beverage-led enterprises.

What makes this course distinctive is its balance of hands-on training, international certification, industry exposure, and career support. Learners do not only train on campus; they also proceed to a 3-month internship placement, giving them the opportunity to apply their skills in a real hospitality environment.

The course also includes certification for the prestigious Italian Barista Certificate by Espresso Academy, giving learners an internationally respected credential that strengthens their employability and professional profile.

Through hands-on training, participants gain practical experience in brewing methods, espresso preparation, grinder calibration, roasting, milk texturing, latte art, and beverage innovation. The programme also introduces smoothies, milkshakes, mocktails, cocktails, wine knowledge, and professional food and beverage service.

Learners also explore the business side of coffee, including how to set up and manage a coffee shop, control stock, maintain quality, manage waste, observe hygiene and safety standards, supervise staff, and deliver customer experiences that build loyalty.

The course fee includes training, examination and certification fees, meals while on campus, training materials, and a farm trip, giving learners a complete and immersive learning experience.

By the end of the programme, learners will have built the confidence, technical skill, service discipline, and industry exposure needed to pursue employment, internship progression, or entrepreneurship in the coffee and hospitality sector.
