BIHC First Graduation Ceremony
The Boma International Hospitality College (BIHC) that is fully owned by the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) held its first ever graduation ceremony on 22nd November, 2017 at the KRCS headquarters in South C, Nairobi. A total of 50 students graduated on that day.The college started off with 75 students in May 2015 followed by an admission of 116 students in 2016 and a colossal increment to 184 students in 2017. To date, it has attracted students from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Ghana,Nigeria, Madagascar, Mayotte, China and the United States of America.
The graduation was honored by the Cabinet Secretary, Tourism Hon. Najib Balalawho was also the Chief Guest in the ceremony, Principal Secretary, Tourism FatumaHirsi, KRCS Governor Dr. Mohamud Said, KRCS Secretary General Dr. Abbas Gullet, Deputy Head of Mission - Swiss Embassy in Kenya Florian Gubler, Boma International Hospitality College Chair and KRCS Goodwill Ambassador Gina Din Kariuki, among other diligent and guests.“When we started the school, our aim was to provide competitive courses in an international learning environment. We partnered with the Business and Hotel Management School in Switzerland, which allows our undergraduates to under take their final Bachelor year in Switzerland,” Dr. Abbas Gullet, Secretary General of KRCS said.The college has intakes in January, May and September with courses in Hotel Management, Food and Beverage Operations, Rooms Division Operations and Management, as well as Culinary arts.
